Harrbi Doner on Khatai is still one of my favorite spots for quality doner – super clean place, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. The classic doner in bread/lavaş/dürüm is absolutely fantastic: juicy, perfectly seasoned meat, fresh veggies, great sauces. Easily one of the best in Baku. Even though prices are higher than street-style places, it’s worth it for this one. 5/5 every time. However, the İskender doner (25 AZN) was a real letdown, especially at that price (most good İskender places charge 9-14 AZN). Problems: Served on a thick, extremely hot iron plate instead of the traditional copper tray – honestly felt unsafe when the waiter brought it to the table (way too hot to be near). Yogurt was given separately in a tiny bowl instead of being poured over the meat and bread as it should be. Taste was overwhelmed by salty sausage and oil – missing the rich buttery tomato sauce and proper balance you expect from real İskender. At 25 manat, this was unfortunately a waste of money. Final advice: Stick to their amazing classic doner in bread – you’ll leave happy and full 😊 Skip the İskender here and save yourself the disappointment (and the burn risk). Still recommended for the regular doner!
